Happy Memorial Day :)

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend relaxing!

To honor the vets, we stopped at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery outside of Spooner, WI to honor the men and women buried there, and pay special tribute to the man that introduce Brady to Jesus Christ. We also drove up to Ashland, WI to visit my grandfather's grave.

We took a tour of the northwoods of Wisconsin. We were in Spooner, Sarona, Shell Lake, Drummond, Delta, Ashland and Fifield. Here are some moments from the weekend!

Hanging out on the Namekagon River in Spooner, WI. We stayed at a cabin with no running water, no electricity [propane powered!] and only an outhouse. No TV, no computers. LOVED IT!

The 13 or so bluegills we caught on Cable Lake in Spooner, WI

We stopped on the way home and took a break to fish the Flambeau River in Fifield, WI

We went trout fishing on the White River in Delta, WI. I cooked an easy grill dinner. Chicken pieces, onion slices, potatoes [you can add carrots slices too!] with some salt & pepper and Lawry's seasoning salt in tin foil packets. On the grill for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked!

My first trout! 9"... a keeper! [He showed me up later by catching a 15"]

What did you do for Memorial Day? Any traditions?

  1. Alas, you are braver than I. No running water?!!

New follower from bloggymoms - checked out your wordpress blog as well. Would be curious to know how the transition was...am thinking about doing the same.

Just can't handle the instability of blogger.
