Happy Memorial Day :)

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend relaxing!

To honor the vets, we stopped at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery outside of Spooner, WI to honor the men and women buried there, and pay special tribute to the man that introduce Brady to Jesus Christ. We also drove up to Ashland, WI to visit my grandfather's grave.

We took a tour of the northwoods of Wisconsin. We were in Spooner, Sarona, Shell Lake, Drummond, Delta, Ashland and Fifield. Here are some moments from the weekend!

Hanging out on the Namekagon River in Spooner, WI. We stayed at a cabin with no running water, no electricity [propane powered!] and only an outhouse. No TV, no computers. LOVED IT!

The 13 or so bluegills we caught on Cable Lake in Spooner, WI

We stopped on the way home and took a break to fish the Flambeau River in Fifield, WI

We went trout fishing on the White River in Delta, WI. I cooked an easy grill dinner. Chicken pieces, onion slices, potatoes [you can add carrots slices too!] with some salt & pepper and Lawry's seasoning salt in tin foil packets. On the grill for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked!

My first trout! 9"... a keeper! [He showed me up later by catching a 15"]

What did you do for Memorial Day? Any traditions?

help!

Help me! So I grew up in a vegetarian family... My sister and I ate very little meat. And now I'm with a man who grew up with a father who works in a meat market. He is a meat & potatoes man, who tends to be a little picky. I'm learning more and more each day about his tastes & preferences, but I'm starting to get bored with eating the same old thing every week.

So I'm looking for your help! I need recipes. I'm looking for slow cookers [works best for our schedules!] or easy dinners [we like cooking from scratch... none of those processed food boxes!]

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me some recipes!

Sometimes I just need to share things I've found, recipes I've created or just vent about things [and here from you too!]

Thanks for checking this out... Can't wait to share life with NLDesigns followers!
